i went to the entrepreneurship talk last friday with Tami and it was really worth it... the first was an MIS guy who started a baking utensils store with a friend.. it was so much Tami that i think it alone made coming to the talk worth it for her: ) He is a parttime employee in a local company wherein he could choose his own sched... kaya he made it a point to set a sched wherein free siya sa morning... he must be one hell of a worker if he could balance two totally different field of work... anyway he talked about the problems that weren't taught in school... unfortunately he wasn't able to finish his presentation... because he needed to give way to the next speaker presentation who was not as interesting as his presentation was...
the next one was an exporting guy... the most interesting point that he raised was that the best way to have money is earn in dollars and spend in pesos.... interesting but he didn't really gave as guidelines as to how we get to do that....: (
third was an heir of her familys company(Victory Liner)... she said that they have this family constitution wherein they should first have three years of experience outside their company before they could enter there and work... pretty sound rule so that the people who would handle the business have more or less made all the Beginner's mistake at their first job...
Last was a strict looking woman who seems to be a no-nonsensse person... she have her basket wrapping business which used to be corporate give away but now they needed to change tactics and went to the wedding give aways...
the talk was closed by the SOM head he gave us a very good way of looking at things... hhe parang brainwashing is more like it... anyway he reminded us about our reasons why we don't want to start a business after graduate... no experience, no contacts, no capital yada yada yada... and then he made us realize that this is the time where there is almost no risk... we still don't have a family to worry about, a house or a car to worry about... this is practically the most risk free time we could ever get... that made me think and made me realize that i have never seen that dilemma that way... and i was actually impressed... he succeeded in brainwashing me. should i be happy for that???
